2. Overview

isybee is a digital beekeeping diary. To use it, you create a user account with a name you choose and a PIN. Your diary entries and photos are stored so that you (and, if you choose, your family) can access them. An email address is not required for registration. For the paid version, payment is processed through Apple and RevenueCat in the iOS app, and through Stripe in the web version (see sections 5 and 6).

3. Registration and user account

When you register, isybee collects the following data:

The name you choose (display name, no requirement to use your real name)
A PIN you choose for login (not a password in the classic sense, no email address required, stored as a hash)
Account creation date (used, among other things, to manage the free trial period in the app)

The legal basis is the performance of the usage agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

4. Diary entries and photos

The entries you create (observations, dates, notes, harvest amounts) as well as photos you upload of your beehives are stored to provide you with the diary function. This data is visible only to you and any family members you grant access to within the app, and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Payment processing and subscription (iOS app only)

After a free trial period, the iOS app offers an optional monthly subscription. Purchases are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store payment system; isybee does not receive any credit card or payment data. RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) is used to manage subscription status. This involves processing a user identifier and the purchase/subscription status in order to determine whether premium features are unlocked within the app. No name or contact data is transmitted to RevenueCat.

6. Payment processing and subscription (web/PWA)

On the web version (iwbees.netlify.app), the monthly subscription after the free trial period is processed via Stripe, Inc. (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.). When you subscribe you are redirected to Stripe's checkout page; isybee does not receive or store your card details. Stripe processes your email address, payment details and subscription status in order to process the payment and manage the subscription.

7. Hosting and technical infrastructure

isybee is hosted via Netlify, Inc. (USA) and uses Netlify functions as well as Netlify database and blob storage services to store account, diary and image data.

When you visit the website, technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address, time of access) is briefly processed by the hosting provider to deliver the website securely and reliably. No cookies are used for advertising or tracking purposes.

8. Storage period

Your data is stored for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data (entries, photos, account data) at any time directly within the app (the "Delete this user" button on the login screen), or alternatively by contacting the address above. After deletion, the data is removed without delay, unless legal retention obligations apply.

9. Your rights

Under applicable law, you have the right at any time to:

Access to your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular the Austrian Data Protection Authority (www.dsb.gv.at)
